5 Reasons Why Long Hair SUCKS (But Not Enough To Cut it)

In the last blog, I gave you 5 Reasons why you should grow your hair out.


In this one, I am going to give you 5 struggles of long hair.


  1. It takes a long time to grow.

Growing your hair out is a commitment. Growing your hair out can take upwards of a year to 18 months. So, it takes patience and dedication to grow your hair out. Related to this reason, the next reason is.


  1. Awkward Stages

The growing out process has a lot of “awkward” stages, in which your hair is too short to tie up and too long to style it any other way. This can last from 6 months to upwards of a year of not having a go-to hairstyle. Moving on to the next one.


  1. In the summer, it gets freaking hot.

In the summer, it gets hot. Long hair makes you feel hot, literally. Although, you will get used to it quite quickly. Just think about women, how do they handle it? Also, on the other side, long hair in winter keeps you warm and you always have a natural hat on. 

The next one is a big one.


  1. Long hair is polarising.

When you are a guy with long hair, along with that you get people’s comments and judgements. People constantly asking when you're gonna cut it or tell you to cut it.

So, if you wish to be a guy with long hair, then you have to accept the fact that many people will not like your hair.

But, the people who love it will really love it tho.


  1. Long hair takes more care and maintenance.

When you have long hair, it obviously means more maintenance, more product and a little extra time setting your hair. When you have short hair and your hair is not healthy, it does not matter as much. But when you have long hair, you have to take care of your hair, which could also be a pro for some people as well.


So, those were 5 struggles that long hair guys face. 

In my opinion, the pros of long hair outweigh the cons. Of course, I am biased. Anyways, I hope you got a better understanding if you wish to grow your hair or not.

Don’t Cut it. It seems obvious now, but when you hit that awkward phase, you will wanna cut it. Just power through and have patience. Growing your hair out can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on the hairstyle you are going for. Massage your scalp. Massaging your scalp helps in keeping your hair healthy.
